As you may be aware, the Teachers Union (NZEI) have voted to conduct a series of rolling strikes throughout the country to address the teacher shortage crisis facing the teaching profession. These strikes will take place from the 12th – 16th November, with the Waikato region going on strike on Tuesday, 13th November.
Our Board of Trustees has considered the possibility of keeping the school open, as we did on the previous day of strike action. However, with two staff already scheduled to be away on the 13th of November for professional development, we will not have enough staff available to keep the school open for instruction. Therefore, the Board of Trustees has decided to accept the recommendation that our school will be closed on Tuesday, 13th November.
Please take note of the following information regarding the strike action:
Impact: School Closed for Instruction
When: Tuesday, 13th November
We are sorry for the inconvenience that this may cause.
Kind regards and many blessings,
Mr. Shaun Hurlow
